CAREERS AT VISIA

Build the physical intelligence layer for the industrial economy.

Join the team.

  • Own deployment reliability horizontally across every site we run. You understand the value Visia delivers on the ground for all types of deployments, you show up when the hardware fails, and you design, deliver, and maintain solutions that drive value to customers.

    The role

Visia works with hundreds of industrial operators across the United States, deploying critical physical AI systems into live heavy-industrial environments. Those systems have to keep working, and the customers behind them have to keep seeing value. That's your job. You make sure each deployment is delivering, you show up on site when the hardware fails, and you own the customer's experience from the first install through every fix and improvement after.

You'll report to Brandon, head of the Deployments team and work alongside the engineers who currently know every system by heart. Your first few months are working directly with Brandon and Visia's CTO, learning the complete hardware stack, and getting to know our customers. The goal is simple: when something breaks at any site, you can diagnose and repair remotely or go onsite to make it right, and then improve our platform to ensure it doesn't happen again.

As you grow, you'll take ownership of time-to-value across the Deployments fleet. That means two things: understanding the benefit Visia actually brings at each site, and being the impartial check that we're delivering it. If a deployment isn't pulling its weight, you're the one who catches it and drives the fix.

We work with a wide variety of customers and offer a range of hardware solutions to make sure the Visia platform is able to drive real operational value on-site. For customers who require new hardware / low-level R&D work to find the highest operational value, you will own scoping and delivering the custom hardware solution, and turn the deployment into a repeatable playbook for other similar customers.

This is a hands-on field role, not a desk job, and the travel is real. Expect about one trip a week. You'll be on the road roughly half the time, and 100+ travel days a year is normal. You need to be ready to go on short notice.

    What you'll do

    • Get Visia systems up and keep them running on site: mount and align cameras, calibrate and swap lasers, rewire equipment, swap edge compute, set up and audit PLCs, and bring offline systems back online.
    • Be the first responder for field issues across the whole fleet. You'll diagnose problems you've never seen before, figure them out in the moment, and close them out.
    • Translate customer feedback and your onsite experiences into real outcomes. Spot what isn't working, whether it's the hardware, the config, or how the system is being used, and make it better.
    • Work with the Platform team to build site-reliability tooling and dashboards so we catch hardware problems before the customer does.
    • Improve the hardware stack end to end and work on building out hardware / low-level R&D work for customers with net-new requirements.

    What gets us excited

    • You're an engineer who loves the physical world. CS, EE, or mechanical background, and you've built things outside of class: Arduino projects, small robotics, home electronics, anything where you wired it up and made it work.
    • You can code, and you're comfortable using modern tools (including Claude Code) to debug firmware, talk to a controller, or script your way out of a problem in the field.
    • You enjoy coming up with creative solutions to unfamiliar problems and challenging the status quo rather than always abiding by someone else's process. Strong new grads with real proof of building things are encouraged to apply.
    • You genuinely don't mind the travel. Roughly a trip a week, often on short notice, to steel mills, scrap yards, recycling facilities, and cement plants.
    • No task is beneath you. If a system is down and a customer is paying for it, you do whatever it takes to get it back up.

    Expected impact

    • 1 month in: You've shadowed the team across most of our deployments and know the hardware stack hands-on. You can already run routine remote or on-site fixes start to finish with light support.
    • 3 months in: You're handling field issues across the fleet on your own, you've worked with Platform to build the tooling that surfaces hardware issues before customers flag them, and you're pushing on the customers who aren't yet getting value from their deployment, making sure they see clear, on-site impact.
    • 12 months in: You own field reliability across our deployments, and you're ready to start owning customer deployments end-to-end.
